AFM Deckote White Concrete Paint

DESCRIPTION: Safecoat DecKote is a unique waterborne coating for use on dimensionally stable decks including concrete, magnesite, walkways, breezeways and patios. Safecoat DecKote dries to a hard, tough coating yet contains no offensive solvents, fumes or odors. It dries quickly, cleans up with water and provides a tough monolithic film for lasting protection on properly prepared surfaces. Standard in white, colors available on special order.

USE ON: Concrete and magnesite. Also suitable for properly primed metal.

TINTING: Deckote can be tinted in any pastel colors but might look lighter then the color swatch because of its unique base.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

Unpainted concrete/magnesite: New surfaces should age thirty days before coating for best results. Scrub surface with a solution of SafeChoice Super Clean and water. Use 6 oz. of Super Clean per gallon of water. Triple rinse to assure residue is completely removed. Use water with some pressure. For the very best adhesion, acid etching may be required, followed by completely neutralizing the surface. Use extreme caution when working with acid.
Metal: Surfaces must be primed before applying Safecoat DecKote. Use a safer metal primer such as AFM MetalCoat.

APPLICATION: Always have adequate ventilation. Apply in two uniform coats. The surface should be completely dry before application. Before using, stir well, then apply as is, using a high quality nylon or synthetic bristle brush or roller of appropriate nap (1/4”-3/8” nap recommended). For spraying, reduce with up to 1/2 pint of water per gallon. Use an airless sprayer, minimum 2000 p.s.i., with a .015-.017 tip. Use a 60 mesh filter. Always use a painter’s mask when spraying. Do not apply on cold, damp days or when the air or surface temperature is below 55 degrees F. No thinning is required. A small amount of water may be added to help in the application of thinner coats.

COVERAGE: One gallon of Safecoat DecKote covers approximately 350 square feet in one coat depending on surface porosity.

CLEAN-UP: Clean tools and equipment while they are still wet with a solution of SafeChoice Super Clean and warm water. If Safecoat DecKote is allowed to harden on tools, it will be necessary to use lacquer thinner or stronger solvents.

DRYING/CURING TIME: Under normal conditions, Safecoat DecKote dries to touch in 4-8 hours. Allow 24 hours between coats. WARNING: Surfaces can become slippery when wet with water, oil or grease. Safecoat DecKote can be supplied with an inert mineral aggregate additive to reduce slipperiness. The aggregate itself is available and can be added separately. For greater safety in traffic areas, particularly on steps and stairs, it is important that aggregate be added to product or sprinkled on first coat of Safecoat DecKote while it is still wet. This will assist in providing a slip-resistant surface.

LIMITATIONS: Unlike conventional coatings, Safecoat DecKote is made without formaldehyde preservatives. Do not contaminate. Store in airtight containers. Do not use when indoor or surface temperature is below 55°F.

HEALTH PRECAUTIONS: As with all coatings and stains, keep container tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not take internally. Keep from freezing. Always use adequate ventilation. If you are chemically sensitive, always test for personal tolerance.

DESCRIPTION: Safecoat DynoFlex is a unique, water based, low odor elastomeric sealer that comes in a paste-like compound for sealing seams, joints and cracks in new and old heating and air conditioning ducts, and for repairing metal roofs and asphalt shingles. Also comes in a sprayable form that can be used over Safecoat DynoSeal as a topcoat for roofs and decks.

Safecoat DynoFlex is highly resistant to harsh weather and temperature changes. It remains flexible and prevents leaks even after exposure to the elements or contraction due to weather It is resistant to gasoline, oil, grease, fungi, acids, alkalines and flame spread. Safecoat DynoFlex is also a superb sound deadener.

Use a brush, squeegee-type applicator or trowel and smooth evenly to produce a uniform and seamless coat. Two coats provides additional protection.

COVERAGE: 100 square feet per gallon at 15 mils thickness.

DRYING/CURING TIME: To touch within 2 hours. Cures hard in 24 hours.

LIMITATIONS: Do not apply when ambient or surface temperature is below 55 degrees F. Avoid application in direct hot sun, which may cause premature dryout. If product has thickened in container add a small amount of water and stir to return product to original paste consistency. Safecoat DynoFlex does not contain formaldehyde preservatives. DESCRIPTION: Safecoat DynoSeal is a sophisticated, low odor, all weather, waterproof, vapor proof coating and sealer that remains flexible for years. It is highly resistant to flame spread and temperature change, and when cured is also highly resistant to gasoline, oil, grease, fungi, acids and alkalines. It has very low odor upon application and is odor free once cured.

USE ON: Safecoat DynoSeal is recommended for use on seamless roofs and as a deck coating and underlayment for shower stalls, pools, tubs and saunas. It is also recommended for use in repairing roofs, flashing, shingles and metal seams and as a vapor barrier against moisture and radon from below-grade foundations. It is an excellent sound deadener. Safecoat DynoSeal adheres well to concrete, block, metal, wood and hot mop asphalt.

SURFACE PREPARATION: Surfaces to be treated should be clean and free of any dirt, dust, rust, scales and particularly oil residue. They should be dry and temperatures should be 55-95 degrees F. Power washing or broom washing with SafeChoice Super Clean or similar not toxic biodegradable cleaner is preferred. Avoid tsp as it leaves a residue. Surface should be dry before application.

APPLICATION: Always have adequate ventilation. Use inexpensive disposable applicators. Safecoat DynoSeal comes ready to use and requires no dilution. Safecoat DynoSeal may be applied with a brush or roller applicator and should be applied in a uniform manner to achieve a proper thickness. Roof and deck coating: apply in thickness of 15+-5 mil increments to obtain a seamless pin hole free film. Recommended thickness is 30 mils wet-15 mils fully cured. Below grade application: apply in 15+-5 mil increments. Recommended thickness is 60 mils wet-30 fully cured.

COVERAGE: 100 square feet per gallon at 15 mils thickness (7½ mils cured). CLEAN-UP: Properly dispose of applicators.

DRYING/CURING TIME: Dries to touch within one hour under moderate humidity at 68 degrees F. Temperatures should be expected to remain above 45 degrees F for two days to allow full curing. Surface remains tacky to touch after drying.

LIMITATIONS: Do not apply in direct sunlight. Do not expose for any lengthy period to ultra violet rays, as some oxidation is likely to occur. When used outside, Safecoat DynoSeal is meant to be covered with Safecoat DynoFlex RoofGuard or Safecoat DecKote. If coating has been exposed to the sun, wash thoroughly and allow to dry before applying a top coating. Safecoat DynoSeal is non-flammable but should be stored in a cool place to avoid rupture of sealed containers under high heat. Keep from freezing.

AFM DynoFlex RoofGuard

DESCRIPTION: Safecoat DynoFlex RoofGuard is a unique, water based, low odor elastomeric coating which can be used on composition roofs, rock roofs, cured hot melt asphalt, new polyurethane foam, properly primed wood, metal, masonry, tilt up concrete and mobile homes. It reflects ultraviolet light and will lower the inside temperature from 10-20 degrees F. DynoFlex RoofGuard has excellent flexibility (up to 300%), excellent water resistance and bridges small cracks very well.

SURFACE PREPARATION: All surfaces must be dry, clean and free from dirt, dust, grease, loose peeling paint and all other foreign matter. Being a non-penetrating type product, all surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned. Power wash all areas before applying. Patch cracks, holes, seams and ducts with Safecoat DynoFlex and allow material time to dry before coating. All metal surfaces must be free from rust and primed with a metal primer. DynoFlex RoofGuard is generally meant to be applied over 1-2 coats of Safecoat DynoSeal as part of a roof coating system.

APPLICATION: Roller or spray. Spray application is the most desirable method. Two coats are recommended at a rate of about 100 square feet per gallon or less which will achieve about 16 mils dry film thickness. On urethane foam apply at the rate of 50-65 square feet per gallon. Adequate film thickness determines the life and protection of the coating. For best results, apply at a rate of about 16-20 mils dry film thickness. This means 40-50 mils wet film application. Allow 6-8 hours in good drying weather. Do not apply on cold, damp, foggy days or when rain might occur within 72 hours. Air and surface temperature should be 55 degrees F or higher.

THINNING: None required. If necessary, use water sparingly.

CLEAN-UP: Clean tools and equipment while they are still wet with a solution of SafeChoice Super Clean and warm water. If DynoSeal RoofGuard is allowed to harden on tools, it will be necessary to use lacquer thinner or stronger solvents.

DRYING/CURING TIME: 2-12 hours depending on wet film thickness, humidity, and ambient temperature. Recoatable in 6-8 hours in most cases.

COLORS: Standard color is white. DynoFlex Roof Guard may be obtained in other colors on special order, but white provides superior UV resistance. For maintenance or color coating, we recommend a topcoat of Safecoat CemBond paint, which will provide even further weather and water resistance.

OTHER USES: DynoFlex RoofGuard makes an excellent elastomeric exterior wall coating. (Be sure to provide adequate ventilation so moisture will not be trapped inside the wall.)

AFM DynoSeal Asphalt Driveway Sealer

DESCRIPTION: DynoSeal Driveway/Asphalt Sealer is a low odor elastomeric sealer and topcoating for asphalt surfaces. It helps to reduce the offgassing and offensive smells generated by new asphalt, while preserving and renewing existing asphalt surfaces.

USE ON: DynoSeal Driveway/Asphalt Sealer can be used on unsealed or previously sealed asphalt surfaces. It can also be mixed with sand to make an asphalt driveway patch for small areas.

SURFACE PREPARATION: All surfaces must be clean, dry, free from dirt, dust, grease, loose sand or any other foreign matter. Use a high pressure water wash with a solution of SafeChoice Super Clean and warm water to clean surface; additional scrubbing may be necessary. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and let dry. DynoSeal Driveway/Asphalt Sealer can be applied over damp, but not wet, surfaces. Mix DynoSeal Driveway/Asphalt Sealer with equal parts of sand to make a patch for small damaged areas in asphalt. Allow patch to dry 12-24 hours before topcoating.

APPLICATION: Apply with brush, roller, broom or squeegee. Apply in thin, even coats and avoid laps or puddling. Use on dry surfaces and avoid applying over hot surfaces. Do not apply when there is a threat of rain, if rain is imminent with 72 hours of final topcoat, or on humid days. Allow at least 24-36 hours of curing before allowing heavy traffic to travel on newly coated surface. Sand can be added to coating to give greater fill characteristics on badly weathered asphalt. Sand can also be sprinkled on surface to help eliminate tackiness if too much coating has been applied.

THINNING: Thin with water if necessary. Thin only with enough water to get coating to dry sufficiently into the surface and not remain excessively tacky. Highly weathered asphalt will not require any thinning to product. New or extremely well maintained asphalt will require thinning with equal parts of water for proper penetration. To achieve maximum seal, apply full strength. Apply to a test area before doing large areas.

COVERAGE: One gallon of DynoSeal Driveway/Asphalt Sealer covers approximately 100-600 square feet per gallon depending on dilution and surface condition (porosity). Coating that has been mixed 1:1 with sand will normally coat about 15-50 square feet per gallon.

CLEAN-UP: Clean tools and equipment with a diluted solution of SafeChoice Super Clean and warm water.

DRYING/CURING TIME: Under normal conditions, DynoSeal Driveway/Asphalt Sealer dries within 2-4 hours. Material appears brown/gray during application and is black when dry. If coating remains tacky after 24 hours, mix 1 part sand, 1 part water, 1 part DynoSeal Driveway Sealer and coat surface again. Coating should dry without any serious tackiness.
